"ALL ARE WELCOME
IN THIS PLACE." |

Zion Lutheran Church has always been an active part of the world community. From contributing to a missionary in Russia to support of rural ministry, from Lutheran World Relief to providing a community used furniture room, Zion is "a church without walls". Our members recognize the importance of their baptisms and through worship and regular holy communion, believe God's call to discipleship is a call to faith in action. We invite you to worship with us.

The liturgical season following Pentecost is known as the "Ordinaries". It runs from Pentecost until the first Sunday in Advent which begins the new church year. From Advent through Pentecost we are involved in worshiping the high holy festivals of the church year. The rest of the time, I suppose , could then be considered "Ordinary".
But there is nothing "Ordinary" about the scripture we will consider this summer. Our focus will be on the Psalms that are offered in the lectionary. The Psalms are truly the "Prayers of the People". Written by ancient believers they cover the whole range of human trials and joys, challenges and accomplishments. Through them all, God is the Creator, almighty and powerful and in charge.
Anyone who reads the Psalms is almost always in awe of how they speak to the human condition.
By considering the Psalm and the other lessons in parallel each week, we can come to better understand God's plan for our lives and our part in that great, continuing drama known as Creation. |
| Heavenly Harps coming to Zion on Friday, July 23rd 6 p.m. Free will offering will be taken. |
