WELCOME |

Zion Lutheran Church has always been an active part of the world community. From sponsoring a missionary in Russia to support of rural ministry, from Lutheran World Relief to providing a community used furniture room, Zion is "a church without walls". Our members recognize the importance of their baptisms and through worship and regular holy communion, believe God's call to discipleship is a call to faith in action. We invite you to worship with us.

ADVENT: the forgotten season
Advent is the beginning of the new church year. As is often the case with the church, we are out of synch with the rest of society. Our December is a time of pleading, preparing, proclaiming and participating in the coming of the Savior .
During Advent we live at two different levels of awareness -- one, the activities of our everyday life, and two, the awareness of God speaking to us in this time and place.
Thomas Merton, an activist monk of the mid-20th century, said, when we extend the pipeline of our lives further into the world, we need to sink our wells deeper. We cannot maintain ourselves at the level and activity of this life, without the resources of the life we have as Christians. May Advent be a time of drinking deeply of the well that is our Lord and Savior.
