Every Move I Make

Lord, I lift Your Name On High

A mesage from the Youth Director

God’s word plays a large role in the ministering of our young people.  Jesus had a great manner of leading and developing his disciples.  More often than not he was teaching them.  He was able to transform them through his word and his ways.

Our young people today are much like those disciples of Jesus.  They encounter many challenges, judgments of their peers, and tests in today’s world; tests of their faith, morals, and character.  It is so easy to find the errors of their ways, but up to us as their mentors to guide them onto the right path.  Hebrews 12:6 says, “the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”  Our youth will encounter errors in their judgment, call it “learning lessons,” but with our help, we can help shape the spiritual lives of our young people, and through God’s word we can re-direct their lives.

Zion has not only an obligation but a role in shaping the young people’s lives.   It is up to us to create and environment in our ministry where our youth actively live through their faith.  As role models to our youth we are building up their character, faith, and giving them the tools so they are equipped to live a life that God calls on them to live.
